Frank Lloyd Wright (1867 - 1959) was an American architect who greatly influenced 20th Century architecture and building. His radically innovative designs were based around natural forms and were termed by Wright as 'organic architecture'. Many of Wright's buildings had open-plan interiors which accommodated for the changes in domestic living which occurred during the 20th Century. Wright designed many famous buildings including the Guggenheim Museum in New York City.
