Oscar Wilde (1854 ? 1900) was an Irish writer and was a hugely successful and celebrated playwright of Victorian London. Wilde studied at Trinity College, Dublin and Magdalene College, Oxford, and became part of the 'Aesthetic' movement. He is well known for his play 'The Importance of Being Earnest'.
