Thomas Thornely (1855-1949)
Thomas Thornely (1855-1949) is an enigmatic character who is chiefly known in writing terms for his limericks. He was also an historian and prolific letter writer (a collection of 41 of his letters to Oscar Browning are in the King's College Archive at Cambridge University). Other poems by Thornely (in some references spelt 'Thorneley') include 'Dreams and Freudians' and 'The Angler on his Ancestry'.
