George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950) won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1925 and the Academy Award in 1938 for 'Pygmalion'. He was an Irish playwright and a vegetarian. He disliked organized training and this affected his education, however after moving to London he quickly established himself as a leading theatre critic before writing his own plays.
