William Brighty Rands (1823-1882) was a journalist and reporter in the House of Commons who is principally known for Lilliput Levee (1864) a book of verse for children (published under the name Mathew Browne); and for the quote 'Never do today what you can put off till tomorrow' within it. He often preferred to publish his work anonymously under various psedonyms such as Henry Holbeach, Mathew Browne, T. Talker or Timon Fieldmouse. He also wrote a book called 'Chaucers England' which is due to be republished in June 2001.
