Andre Malraux (1901 - 1976) was a French author and adventurer. He was born in Paris, however spent several years living in Cambodia. In 1933 he wrote the novel 'Man's Fate' about the defeat of a communist regime in Shanghai. For this work he won the Prix Goncourt of literature.
