Johannes Kepler (1571 - 1630) was a German mathematician, astronomer, astrologer. He is well known for his laws of planetary motion and is sometimes described as 'the first theoretical astrophysicist'. He originally studied theology at the University of T?bingen and here, he proved to be a skilled mathematician. He was later appointed as the successor to Tychoe Brahe as Imperial Mathematician in Prague.
