Helen Keller (1880 - 1968) was an American author, political activist and lecturer. Having being left blind and deaf at an early age, Keller eventually learnt to read, speak and she became the first deaf and blind person to graduate from university. She founded Helen Keller International, which was an organization for the prevention of blindness and travelled the world.
