Alan Kay (1940 - ) is an American computer scientist and a pioneer of personal computing. Kay was involved in the development of a $100 laptop, launched in November 2005, for students around the world. He has worked for Atari and been a fellow at Xerox, Apple Computer, Walt Disney Imagineering and Hewlett-Packard. He was also once a professional jazz and rock and roll guitarist
