Edmund Hillary (1919 - ) is an explorer, mountaineer and beekeeper from New Zealand. He, along with Tenzing Norgay, was the first climber to reach the summit of Mount Everest in 1953. He later founded the Himalayan Trust and is the Honorary President of the American Himalayan Foundation.
