Dennis Gabor (1900 - 1979)
Dennis Gabor (1900 - 1979) won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1971 for inventing holography. He is a Hungarian physicist who was educated in both Budapest and Berlin, but moved to Britain during the Second World War. It was while working for the British Thomson-Houston company that he invented the holograph. He later became a professor of Applied Physics at Imperial College, London before retiring.
