Erich Fromm (1900 - 1980) was German-American psychologist, philosopher and writer. At the University of Heidelberg he studied sociology and later completed his psychoanalytical training. After moving to the United States, Fromm worked and taught psychology at several universities throughout the country. He is well known for his 1956 work 'The Art of Loving'.
