Russell Baker (1925-) is an American journalist born in Morrisonville, Virginia. Known for his satirical writing and self-critical prose, he has written many essays and biographies and was the host of the PBS show Masterpiece Theatre from 1992 - 2004. He has won the Pulitzer Prize twice, for the Observer column he wrote in the New York Times and for his memoir Growing Up.
