Marcus Aurelius (121 -180) was the Roman Emperor from 161 to his death and was a highly important stoic philosopher. Stoicism teaches self-control and detachment from emotions to allow clear, unbiased thinking. Aurelius was the last of the Five Good Emperors of the Roman Empire who were known for their moderate policies.
