Aristotle (384 BC - 322 BC) along with Plato and Socrates, is widely considered to be one of the most infulential ancient Greek philosophers. He wrote about many subjects - from biology, physics and logic to poetry, rhetoric and governments. Aristotle placed value on knowledge that was gained from the senses and it was this theory which led to the "empirical scientific method" which explicitly developed in the 17th Century.
