Jack's Tale - A Canine Cushings Disease Success Story

I have spoken about Ginkgo Biloba use on humans before (you can find the ramble here); and so I know that it works particularly well on normalising cerebral blood flow in elderly people. I have even converted my mum and dad to taking them (though they make take issue with the 'elderly' tag!) and so was not particularly surprised at the decision on the part of my dad to try them on Jack. Ginkgo Biloba is fabulous for improving circulation, and so if you have blood (as I am fairly sure that Jack does - He could be an alien, but on balance it seems unlikely) then it is likely to be beneficial. And so it has proved! He is brighter even then before the strokes, and has actually started going up the stairs and jumping in and out of the car. And that is only after being on them for about two weeks. We use the same ones as we take (Pharma Nord Bio-Biloba) , though cut in half to partially make up for the weight difference. I am sure that there are probably special 'dog' ginkgo biloba tablets available somewhere; but me and my dad take the view that at least we feel confident in the potency of this particular brand of Ginkgo Biloba, and that Jack deserves no less than the treatment we would dish out to ourselves.
So, here we are some ten months on since the start of Jack's Cushing's Odyssey. The Vetoryl has worked great throughout, and with a little Ginkgo Biloba boost Jack is on top form again. The message is clear. If your dog has Cushing's please don't despair. Join the yahoo group and be assured by Jack's Tale that there can be light at the end of the tunnel. Both me and Jack would like to thank you for your concern and wish you all vivacious good health and good barking in the coming years!

I have been reading up on all the symptoms of Cushings Disease as we lost our dog to it with complications last week. I had no idea what the disease was or even that it existed. She was 8 years old and I would happily have paid the earth to give her more of a life. For everyone else that has caught the disease and got it under control take every day with them as a blessing and I hope when people read about this disease they will know which way to turn. Thanks for all the information unfortunately for my beautiful Saberhagen it was too late, bless her.

Thank you for taking the time to write these articles - they are so helpful. My best friend Timmy is being tested on Monday for Cushings Disease. He has all the symptoms that you mentioned about Jack's illness, so to have the knowledge from you at this stage is super - thank you.
I've had Timmy and his brother Bouncer since they were six weeks and they are now fifteen and half. So you can imagine how close I am to them. Please let me know the lastest news on Jack.
