ASA International Stroke Conference 2008

You are invited to cover the American Stroke Association’s International Stroke Conference 2008 to be held Feb. 20-22, 2008 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.

This is the largest conference in the world of medical scientists and physicians engaged in research and treatment of stroke, the third leading cause of death in the United States. Nearly 4,000 attendees are expected. For the second year, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons (AANS/CNS) Cerebrovascular Section and the American Society of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (ASITN) has integrated their annual conference into the International Stroke Conference.

The 2008 meeting includes more than 600 oral presentations, poster presentations and lecturers on the latest advances in the treatment and prevention of cerebrovascular disease and stroke. Topics include:

  • Risk factors and prevention
  • Stroke and sickle cell disease
  • Stroke during pregnancy
  • Aneurysm and intracranial hemorrhage
  • Rehabilitation and recovery

Some of these topics will be featured in news conferences and news releases. There will be a pre-conference State-of-the-Art Nursing Symposium on Feb. 19.
