What Is This Plant? - 10 Apr 2007

This is a call to all you First Science readers out there who may know something about plants. I planted a leaf that was growing out of the side of a sweet potato in my kitchen. It has grown to quite a plant in just 2 weeks, but someone told me it was a fungus, someone else said a weed and someone else again said it was actually a sweet potato plant. Can someone tell me? If we can come up with an answer, I have some assorted sciencey things to give away.

Pretty sure it's a sweet potato vine. It is certainly not a fungus!

30 seconds on Google images plus the fact that it came from a sweet potato!
